Innovative renovation.
Inspired use of recycled timber is the feature in this Melbourne cafe.
Part of the renovation of a bar in Northcote in Melbourne’s inner-north, a large slab of old recycled timber was repurposed into pieces to make smaller tables. A simple oiled finish with the bark left on creates an effective rustic look. When placed together, the tables fit back into the original timber slab and a large meeting table.
The bar’s feature wall boasts recycled steel, black Melomine varnished timber. Recycling existing materials produces effective results and helps keeps costs low.
